HTC has launched its no-code metaverse builder VIVERSE Create, which allows users to create and share interactive multiplayer worlds.

In fact, the tool suite lets creators share their worlds with anyone and any device, including VR headset, mobile, PC, or Mac, without the need for a gaming machine.

The Taiwanese technology corporation HTC explained in a related press release that the solutions cross-platform that this is made possible due to its “no install” feature.

Andranik Aslanyan, Head of Growth, HTC VIVERSE, believes that VIVERSE Create will help people to realise the potential of the metaverse:

“Gone are the days of keeping your creations locked in your virtual world.

“With VIVERSE Create, we’re giving creators the tools to create any world and share it with their friends, parents – even their grandparents – to experience with one simple, secure, joinable link.

“Whether virtual hangs, live events, or multiplayer match-ups, everyone can hang in VIVERSE Create, proving that the metaverse isn’t dead; it’s just waiting for the rest of us to catch up.”

VIVERSE Create No-Code Builder

The no-code builder can either be utilised via the VIVERSE Create website, in which users can produce virtual worlds with media files and assets using flat devices.

Users will then be able to ‘seamlessly’ integrate with the Sketchfab library, gaining millions of free models, without requiring specialist 3D expertise.

For those with a more advanced skillset, however, they will be able to easily import and deploy their current models as VIVERSE Create has native support for the VROID VRM format.

PlayCanvas, an advanced ‘game engine-style’ building tool, is another option available to creators that are looking to design interactive experiences within the browser. Again, it can bring your builds into the VIVERSE without any need for coding.

Last month, HTC released its new Polygon Streaming service to bring interactive 3D models into workflows, accessible to various devices, such as tablets, smartphones, laptops and PCs, and XR headsets.

It incorporates client-side rendering with server-side processing, reducing processing power and bandwidth requirements.

Polygon Streaming reportedly only streams the data of the 3D model that a user is looking at and with the appropriate amount of detail for the distance at which it is being observed from.

Will Eastcott, PlayCanvas CEO, commented on the implications of its partnership with HTC: “At PlayCanvas, we believe in the power of the web to create interactive experiences that are accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise.

“Our partnership with HTC VIVERSE to launch VIVERSE Create embodies this vision by enabling creators to build and share rich, multiplayer worlds directly in the browser, without the need for coding.

“This partnership marks a significant step forward in democratizing game development, making it easier than ever to bring innovative ideas to life on any device, anywhere.”

VIVERSE is a 3D virtual environment that connects people from all over the world and offers users   an “array” of tools and services for developers, creators, businesses, and individuals.
