NVIDIA recently revealed its Q3 earnings, as compiled by Yahoo. Expectably, the firm continued ramping up revenue, which reached $18.1 billion, an uptick of 34% from the previous quarter and more than 200% year-on-year. The firm noted how products like the NVIDIA HGX platform drove Q3 performance.

The NVIDIA technology portfolio is incredibly deep, and the Q3 performance is based on many moving parts within that product portfolio, which reach an extensive list of end customers and partners.

Another area of success for NVIDIA in 2024 is its Omniverse platform, an ecosystem of RT3D, XR, and simulation technologies aiming to provide businesses with emerging AR/VR/MR support.

A core driver behind Omniverse is NVIDIA RTX, a workstation platform for “professional design, engineering, and simulation use cases and AI,” stated CFO Colette Kress during the earnings call. RTX is “emerging as a powerful demand driver,” Kress remarked.

During the NVIDIA Q3 earnings call, Kress explained that the RTX workstations allow enterprises to optimize AI for business workloads. On the XR side, the RTX product is helping to drive the RT3D simulation technology that empowers virtual workplace solutions.

Kress added:

We continue to make progress on Omniverse, our software platform for designing, building and operating 3D virtual worlds.

Kress also highlighted how clients like Mercedes-Benz use the Omniverse platform to leverage digital twins into their workloads to enhance planning, designing, building, and operating manufacturing/assembly facilities, “helping it increase efficiency and reduce defects.”

“Oxxon (ph) is also incorporating Omniverse into its manufacturing process, including end-to-end simulation for the entire robotics and automation pipeline, saving time and cost,” remarked Kress.

Kress also explained:

We announced two new Omniverse Cloud services for automotive digitalization available on Microsoft Azure, a virtual factory simulation engine and autonomous vehicle simulation engine.

More on Omniverse

2024 is just the start for Omniverse. At GTC earlier this year, the firm established a strong vision to bring simulation technology to various verticals, aiming to change the workplace alongside rich AI integration.

NVIDIA is helping enterprise clients leverage digital twins via RTX Enterprise Cloud Rendering. By leveraging the framework of cloud software and hardware components, NVIDIA ensures that enterprise clients can leverage digital twins on devices like the Apple Vision Pro without losing display or framerate quality.

Rev Lebaredian, the Vice President of Simulation at NVIDIA, explained at GTC:

Apple Vision Pro is the first untethered device which allows for enterprise customers to realize their work without compromise. We look forward to our customers having access to these amazing tools.

On the other hand, Vision Pro users can also leverage hybrid rendering routes. Giving clients a choice in how they interact with Omniverse content. As 2025 approaches, NVIDIA’s future will continue to look bright as revenue and investment in XR, AI, and other technologies increase.
