This week, AR/MR guidance solutions provider Arvizio announced support for Meta Quest 3 headsets, bringing its enterprise-grade AR Instructor application to the new headset.

The integration introduces a powerful frontline tool to the Meta Quest 3, allowing end-users to leverage AI-powered immersive training and operational experience visualisations.

Moreover, Arvizio states that the AR Instructor/Quest 3 integration supports various use cases, such as upskilling, onboarding, maintenance, repair, and field service.

Alex Berlin, the President and CEO of Arvizio added:

We are excited to expand our compatibility to include Meta Quest 3 headsets. This development aligns with our commitment to providing our clients with the most advanced mixed reality solutions available. Now, businesses can select the device that best suits their unique needs while benefiting from Arvizio’s industry-leading technology and AR Instructor’s immersive training capabilities.

AR Instructor now provides its “transformative” immersive training service to Quest 3 users, using immersive guidance visualizations, such as step-by-step instructions and digital twins, to assist frontline workers with daily operations.

The Arvizio’s Quest 3 AR Instructor support follows the inclusion of various other leading headsets, such as Microsoft HoloLens 2 and the Magic Leap 2.

The firm ensures flexibility and compatibility by allowing frontline workers to leverage a range of headsets interoperably alongside smartphones and tablets while in the field – bringing a new layer of communication to industry professionals.

Moreover, to assist clients with transferring workflows into the AR Instructor platform, Arvizio is offering custom development services.

More on AR Instructor

Arvizio started a massive scaling journey of its AR Instructor application in June 2022, when the firm introduced support for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.

Moreover, in July 2022, Arvizio introduced AR Instructor Version 2.0, adding new features such as animated digital twins, content caching, and enhanced workflow management tools.

Arvizio’s AR Instructor V2 provides improved workflow mechanisms that enable dispersed employees to control immersive documentation files from the drafting stage to publication, including administrative tools. Version 2.0 also includes technical considerations for third-party documentation, allowing workers to copy, share, and use additional resources across various devices.

In addition to their AR Instructor V2, Arvizio offers the Immerse 3D platform under their XR technology umbrella. Immerse 3D utilizes 3D models and content for design reviews, and workers can stream and edit complex computer-assisted designs (CAD), including Revit or Navisworks file types.

At the time, Jonathan Reeves, the Founder and Chairman of Arvizio, added,

Organizations embracing AR to rapidly train, upskill and maximize their workforce, demand a solution that is both user friendly and device agnostic. With the addition of Magic Leap 2, and robust feature enhancements, Arvizio’s AR Instructor 2.0 broadens cross-platform device flexibility and provides tools for effortless workflow creation and user management.

In an exclusive XR Today interview earlier this year, Reeves also noted that AR will be “one of the next great things to break through and begin to revolutionise Industry 4.0.”

Reeves said:

As part of this, there’s a significant digital transformation taking place across industries and sectors, and I think it’s fair to say that, while AR has been a good topic for a lot of hype and discussion in the market, it’s only now beginning to break through.

Speaking on the Metaverse, Reeves also noted that remote collaboration is a key towards adoption, a sentiment that holds greater weight now the industrial Metaverse is making headlines; “It’s our view that remote collaboration is one of the key drivers. A lot of the Metaverse discussions are taking place, and most people think of the Metaverse [as] a remote collaboration-type scenario,” Reeves remarked.
