Earlier this year, metaverse The Sandbox (SAND) announced a joint venture with global venture accelerator Brinc to launch a new cultural hub, BharatBox. The center will showcase important figures in the entertainment, arts and sports sectors of India. According to the latest report, Sandbox wants to take advantage of this and make India its largest market in the next two years. According to Sandbox co-founder Sebastien BORGET, the company aims to create an environment in which different regions around the world can come together.

BharatBox has reportedly signed 25 Indian partners in the last six months. These include Eros Entertainment, Hungama and Shemaroo. In addition, contracts were signed with three long-established Indian film media entertainment companies. BharatBox also announced a strategic partnership with CoinDCX. The CoinDCX and Okto co-founder believes the partnership will help The Sandbox gain a foothold in India. He’s also excited to work with one of the best players in the metaverse.

Most of the partnerships are contract and land partnerships that will allow the company to use its acquired Land NFTs in the open metaverse to create gaming experiences in “The Sandbox” themed around India, such as the recent project to bring the Indian epic Mahabharat into the metaverse. BharatBox is also working to bring Animoca’s brands to India. This will provide a long-term Web3 solution for ticketing and blockchain gaming.
