Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Transport and Other sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Awea Mechantronic Co Ltd (TW:1530), which rose 10.00% or 3.30 points to trade at 36.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) added 10.00% or 23.00 points to end at 253.00 and JSL Construction&Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) was up 9.94% or 18.00 points to 199.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and EZconn Corp (TW:6442) was down 9.23% or 41.50 points to 408.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Awea Mechantronic Co Ltd (TW:1530) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.00% or 3.30 to 36.30. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; falling 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.58% or 0.43 to $73.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.68% or 0.52 to hit $76.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.25 to trade at $2,529.85 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 32.05, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 101.61.
