However, incoming PM Carney has fired a shot across Trump’s bow, warning that Canada may not be coming to the talks table with the somber, begging approach that President Trump may be hoping for. Future-PM Carney noted that Trump is expected to respect Canada’s sovereignty as the nation remains unavailable and uninterested in being ‘acquired’ by the US.
