Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced a new collaboration with the metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox as part of its VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project. The partnership will bring G-SHOCK-themed content to the Web3 space, including a virtual area called G-SHOCK City and a range of digital avatars and NFTs.
Starting September 3, users of The Sandbox platform will be able to access G-SHOCK City, where they can explore the brand’s history through adventure-based gameplay. The experience will also include survival-style mini-games that reflect G-SHOCK’s shock-resistant features.
As part of the project, Casio will release a series of robot-style avatars inspired by several G-SHOCK models, including the DW-5600, DW-6900, GA-110, GA-2100, and GA-V01. These avatars are designed specifically for The Sandbox and will be available as NFTs.
The avatars will go on sale starting September 3, 2025, with early access registration beginning August 5. Prices for the NFTs will vary depending on the rarity level, and transactions will be conducted in SAND, the native token of The Sandbox platform.
