Augmented Enterprise Summit 2024 will kick off this week on October 15-17, showcasing how industry-leading firms are driving AR/VR/MR innovation toward a workplace revolution. AES will host global operations this year, uniting the industry across the three-day event in Dallas, Texas.

AES 2024 is platforming XR companies such as Meta, Qualcomm, XREAL, HTC VIVE, and RealWear, showcasing the products and technologies that are changing the industry and enterprises today and in the future.

Some featured technologies at AES 2024 include digital twins, haptics, avatars, blockchain, wearables, VR headsets, AR smart glasses, and more. Moreover, the event will feature a rich expo floor, where a broad list of featured vendors and technologies will be on display for attendees.

Moreover, AES is keenly showcasing how companies leverage XR technologies, with keynotes and talks from representatives of primary global operations leveraging AR/VR/MR to enhance workflows. Some of this year’s featured end-user guest speakers cover companies such as Coca-Cola, Disney, FedEx, and Nestle.

The event comes just weeks after Meta Connect again took over XR headlines with a deep list of innovative technologies like Orion. In the event’s fallout, events like AES help clarify a busy technology market, showing how XR can transform businesses today.

Preparing for 2025

The event comes as 2024 enters the holiday period. As 2025 and the second half of the decade approach, the XR revolution is expected to kick off, leading towards 2030.

If forecasts are to be believed, the XR market is looking to shift away from VR headsets and towards audience adoption of AR and MR devices, leading to wider value attributes to associated technologies.

According to a report from VarifiedMarketReports, the 3D geospatial market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, reaching $16.2 billion by 2030, up from $8 billion in 2024. This growth is attributed to the increasing popularity of AR location-based consumer and enterprise applications. The report also predicts a 20.3% annual growth rate from 2024 to 2030 and highlights the involvement of leading technology firms such as Hexagon, Atkins Plc, and Topcon.

In addition, a report from ResearchAndMarkets focuses on the global market for smart augmented reality glasses. It mentions that the market reached approximately 678,600 units in 2023 and is expected to grow to 13 million units by 2030, representing a 53.0% annual growth rate. The report also forecasts growth in both the US and China markets.

Furthermore, Evolve Business Intelligence’s augmented reality and virtual reality report suggests that the market size may reach around $374 billion by 2033. The report covers various sectors such as gaming, entertainment, healthcare, education, retail, and manufacturing.

However, IDC reported a significant decrease in global AR/VR headset shipments in the first quarter of 2024, with a 67.4% year-over-year decline. This decline primarily affected VR headsets, as consumers shifted their focus to MR/AR devices.
