Pakistan has appointed Binance founder Changpeng Zhao as Strategic Advisor to its newly formed Pakistan Crypto Council.

CZ’s appointment was announced during his visit to Islamabad, where he met with key officials, including the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and heads of the central bank and securities commission.

The PCC, operating under the Finance Division, aims to develop a regulatory and educational framework for digital assets in Pakistan.

“Pakistan is a country of 240 million people, over 60% of whom are under 30. The potential here is limitless,” CZ said.

He will advise on crypto regulation, infrastructure, adoption, and talent development.

CZ’s involvement with other countries

Last week, Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Zhao. The agreement focused on developing the country’s blockchain and cryptocurrency infrastructure.

Both parties agreed to collaborate on infrastructure, training, and advisory services.

Pakistan’s Finance Minister called this latest move a “landmark moment” showing Pakistan’s openness to innovation.

PCC CEO Bilal Bin Saqib said CZ’s leadership would help Pakistan emerge as a regional leader in blockchain and digital finance.
