Sony’s Soneium blockchain is partnering with LINE to bring four mini-apps on-chain in the next few months, in hopes of expanding web3 adoption among the social platform’s users.
According to a press release sent to crypto.news, Soneium is preparing to launch a series of mini-apps on LINE in the next few months. This collaboration opens up new opportunities for web3 expansion, especially in regions where LINE is the dominant digital platform.
By bringing blockchain-powered applications to LINE, Soneium hopes to simplify access to popular web3 gaming apps for users through a seamless integration. The firm hopes to onboard new users by introducing them to decentralized applications through LINE.
LINE is Japan’s biggest social media network, with around 200 million active users engaging with the platform. LINE MINI App builders will be able to benefit from its partnership with Soneium which will result in community building, strategic marketing, and IP collaboration.
In the next few months, Soneium will launch four mini-apps on LINE. These mini-apps have found success in the web3 space, garnering engagement from web3 users and through other social networks such as Telegram.
The first app is Sleepagotchi LITE, which is a mini-app version of the upcoming Sleepagotchi Sleep Rewards app available on iOS and Android devices. Players can earn points through the mini-app that they can carry over to the main app. It reached 1 million users on Telegram in the first month after its launch.
The second app is Farm Frens, a mini-game app that was launched on Telegram in 2024. Farm Frens’ upcoming relaunch on Soneium has the potential to become a gateway to web3 and crypto for LINE’s web2 users. Farm Frens was developed by Amihan Entertainment and has raised over $10 million in funding.

Next there is Puffy Match, a mini-game from zk-Layer 2 and AI-powered gaming ecosystem Moonveil. Moonveil is designed to support web3 gaming builders with high-quality infrastructure and AI-driven tools. The mini-game offers players simple rules and quick play sessions, offering community engagement and rewards.
Lastly, there is Pocket Mob, a social strategy RPG game created by Sonzai Labs, the developers behind @TeleMafia. In this game, players will be able to participate in mafia-style battles and join Mob Families directly within social messenger apps, earning Respect points that could grant them NFT rewards.
Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, Jun Watanabe believes Soneium’s partnership with LINE will be able to drive engagement and web3 adoption in ways that were previously difficult for the blockchain to achieve alone.
“LINE has built strong presence and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a next step toward making Soneium more accessible,” said Watanabe.
