This week, immersive collaboration service provider ENGAGE announced version 3.10 of its flagship application, which allows professionals and classrooms to work together in shared virtual spaces.

The new update looks to enhance AI integrations, desktop controls, and session access-including improving the integration of Meta’s AI Llama framework.

In a social media post, David Whelan, CEO of ENGAGE, added:

Whether you’re looking to revolutionize collaboration in the hashtag#workplace or enhance student hashtag#learning experiences, ENGAGE 3.10 is designed for the future of work and education.

New 3.10 Features

ENGAGE 3.10 notably introduces support for Meta’s Llama LLM framework in its AI Builder service. The move enables users to create enhanced conversational AI chatbots and virtual situations that react to users with natural responses.

Whelan explained:

Our AI Builder and chosen School of AI characters now fully integrate with AI at Meta’s Llama. Based on extensive testing, Llama excels in creating conversational chatbots that sounds more natural and human-like, especially for verbal interactions. This aligns with Metas expertise in leveraging real-world communication data from platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. While OpenAI remains a leader in delivering structured, factual responses, its chatbots tend to produce numbered lists—less conversational for human interaction.

The 3.10 update also introduces a URL Quick Links feature, which streamlines the process of joining an online ENGAGE session. The new feature means a virtual attendee can join a group without needing a session name, ID, or password.

Finally, with version 3.10, ENGAGE is introducing enhanced desktop controls for PC and Mac users. This is a major update for ENGAGE as it improves the platform’s usability and interoperability, meaning workers without an XR headset will have a better user experience.

Moreover, desktop control updates ensure a better user experience on all of ENGAGE’s supported end devices, including phones and tablets, with certain applicable device-specific limitations.

ENGAGE is free for users to try, allowing potential adopters to test the service for their use case without investing money into a service or headset.
