Forthewin Network temporarily suspended its bridging services from Neo to Ethereum and Polygon, particularly the ftwNEO and NEP token assets. In Forthewin Network’s Discord server, the project founder, Ed, addressed the critical bug found by a white hat hacker:

As a result, we have disabled the bridges for ftwNEO and NEP on Ethereum and Polygon. The assets are safe. We have identified the bug and addressed it. However, we want to double-check all our codes at this moment to ensure safety.

The development team fixed the bug within 48 hours, relaunched the bridging service, and no users reported losing access to any assets. At the time of press, users can bridge between NEO and NEP from Polygon and Ethereum back to Neo N3. If users face any issues, they are instructed to contact the Forthewin Network team.

About Forthewin Network’s EVM Bridge

In June 2023, Forthewin Network launched its bridging solution to power ftwNEO, a wrapped bNEO asset that distributes NEP token rewards. The bridge was designed as an alternative to Poly Network for moving assets between Neo N3 and supported EVM networks. At the time of press, the bridge connects Neo N3 to Polygon and Ethereum.

Much like the NEO and bNEO tokens, ftwNEO passively distributes token rewards to holders. However, unlike the original asset or other Neo-based wrappers, ftwNEO yields NEP tokens rather than GAS. Once NEO is migrated from Neo to the Ethereum or Polygon blockchain as ftwNEO, the token holder receives NEP tokens on the destination EVM-based chain.
