On Wednesday, November 9th, the U.S. stock markets closed mixed after the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended its seven-day winning streak.

In economic data, U.S. wholesale inventories experienced a 0.2% uptick in September month-to-month, marking an improvement from the 0.1% decrease seen in the preceding month.

S&P 500 sectors mostly ended higher, led by tech and real estate gains, while energy and utilities fell.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.12% to 34,112.27, the S&P 500 gained 0.10% to 4,382.78, and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.08%, ending the session at 13,650.41.

  • Japan’s Nikkei 225 ended Thursday’s session higher by 1.59% at 32,646.46, led by gains in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Warehousing and Services sectors.

  • Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.28%, closing the session at 7,014.90, led by gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Utilities sectors.

  • China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.03% to close the session at 3,053.28, and the Shenzhen CSI 300 increased 0.05%, closing at 3,612.83.

  • Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index slipped 0.33% and closed at 17,517.00.

  • Official statistics released on Thursday indicate that China’s inflation rates in October decreased by 0.1% from September and dropped by 0.2% year-over-year.

Eurozone at 06:15 AM ET

  • The European STOXX 600 index was up 0.54%.

  • Germany’s DAX climbed 0.42%.

  • France’s CAC gained 0.65%.

  • European stocks climbed Thursday, driven by robust earnings from AstraZeneca and Adyen, amid anticipation for the Fed Chair’s policy outlook following the ECB’s rate cut skepticism.

  • ECB officials emphasized the need for more measures to control inflation.

  • The U.K.’s FTSE 100 traded higher by 0.21%.

Commodities at 06:15 AM ET

  • Crude Oil WTI was trading higher by 0.56% at $75.72/bbl, and Brent was up by 0.60% at $80.03/bbl.

  • Natural Gas declined 0.39% to $3.095.

  • Gold was trading lower by 0.30% at $1952.10, Silver slipped 0.75% to $22.558, and Copper slid 0.31% to $3.6363.

US Futures at 06:15 AM ET

Dow futures were up 0.23%, S&P 500 futures gained 0.15%, while Nasdaq 100 Futures slid 0.01%.

Forex at 06:15 AM ET

The U.S. Dollar Index was up 0.09% to 105.68. USD/JPY was up 0.12% to 151.14, and AUD/USD rose 0.06% to 1.5631.
